You should consult the USCIS site, go to press room, and releases of
Dec 13, 2007.

It is clear, green cards with no expiry date WILL CONTINUE TO BE PROOF
OF PERMANENT RESIDENCY, and do not have to be replaced. The USCIS is
currently proposing rule changes, but as of now, no process exists and
there is no requirement.
You MAY apply for a new one and pay the fee, but part of the the new
rulemaking may reduce the fee and the process
