Just a reminder that immigrants aren't the only source of America's
population problem. It's said that half the current 3 million annual
gain comes from "native births" and many religious people still treat
the Earth as sparsely populated, per Biblical times. They still
welcome mindless growth, as long as the procreators are white.
We shouldn't engage in a racial population contest to preserve genetic
purity. Food aid to foreign countries should be 90% replaced with
birth control aid, but "conservative" administrations are more
concerned with so-called moral agendas. They can't see the mobs for
the babies (forest for the trees).
The whole U.S. economy is predicated on rising consumption, with a
prevailing mindset of "no limits," spurred on by slick advertising.
Money can grow forever on paper but physical resources can't. People
refuse to believe than when they can personally benefit from
growthism.
Massive evidence of scarcity is still being ignored, though the cost
of oil is finally tempering that attitude. Global peak oil production
could be a blessing if the human race aims to be sustainable. A return
to a semi depression era mindset would be welcome. Frugality shouldn't
be seen as weakness.
It may feel good to say that nobody can be told to limit their family
size, but in an overcrowded world, "freedom" of procreative choice has
become gluttony.
