I have a question related to immigration status of a friend and her
separated husband.
Let's call them H (husband) and W (wife).
H and W jointly applied for asylum (legit cause) as a single case. H
was interviewed by USCIS and the case was approved. They received
green cards in 2004.
W is a hardworking law-abiding resident.
In 2008, they separated because of alleged domestic abuse by H. She
did not
file any charges.
In 2009, H was caught shoplifting (felony). The court date has been
set.
We'd like to know what we should do to help W.
Question:
1. If H's permanent residence status is revoked or H is deported, will
it affect W's immigration status or her application to become a US
citizen?
2. What we could do to help W?
Thank you in advance.
