Check out the Lion's Head Lodge in Cape Town on the Main Road in Seapoint.
It is not really the center of town, but it is close to the sea. You can
walk to the Water Front along the coast or take a minibus for a few cents...
(to Waterfront or center of town).
They have a hotel and next door a very clean and nice Backpacker's. Both are
very cheap... but raised prices since I last stayed there (2002), as I just
found out via the links below...
