No it wouldn't, that would be completely right, and the photo people
would I'm sure be happy to help you out, almost all groups are happy
to help out anyone with a genuine request. It's also better for you
in that you get help from experienced people who know their subject,
rather than getting lucky with people who also know a bit about
photography here.

Unfortunately though, you're being rude, by ask off-topic questions,
not very rude, because as you note you're known here and are helpful
so off-topic requests aren't too bad (a community needs discussion
outside its narrow focus) but it's still not appropriate.
