The reserves are under the control of the KZN Wildlife
(previously Natal Parks Board).
Itala reserve is inland and the closest large town is
Vryheid, about 70 km from the reserve.
Hhluhluwe reserve is in Zululand (northern Natal) . There
are actually two reserves that adjoin each other, the
other being Umfolozi. The two reserves are linked and you
can move from one to the other.These reserves are within 4
hours drive from Durban. Tar all the 90% of the way, and
the dirt road is suitable for any kind of vehicle.
They are all excellent reserves, however my first choice
would be Hhluhluwe/Umfolozi. For more details visit
