Hi,
Depends here you want to go.
In general, Northern part is a Malaria area, furthermore normally DTP
vaccinations,
better ask the health organisation in your country
Windhoek is a nice city but nothing special to offer.
Namibia has a lot to offer: what is your main interest?
Wildlife? Scenics? Tribal cultures? Do you require luxury lodges or are
you more of the backpacker type?

Things to see:
Etosha National Park. You have to see it.
Sossusvlei and Deadvlei- Highest sand dunes in the world and SPECTACULAR
Sandwich Harbour - south of Walvis Bay with a sea of sand and sea of
water
meeting each other and millions of water birds including flamingo's and
pelicans
Cape Cross - thousands of seals on the main land north of Swakopmund
Goanikontes - a moon landscape just east of Swakopmund
Spitskoppe - the Ayers Rock of Namibia, north-east of Swakopmund
Twyfelfontein - excellent bushmen rock art
Look also at www.getawayafrica.com .

Car rentals
It depends also on where you want to start and end.
A good site for information see: http://www.natron.net/autose/htm
Dropping of your car in one of these countries is much more expensive
