Koos,
Thank you for posting your comments regarding blatant advertising.
I am on the other side of the table as an occasional tourist. The topics
discussed on this group are an important source of information and ideas to
use when planning trips. I would never choose an operator simply because
they happened to post an annoying ad in a discussion group.
I think on the other hand that it does not do any damage for people to use a
signature when posting informative replies or bringing interesting
information to our attention. Why not include the name and location of your
organization, your position and a link to your web site in your reply. That
way if we are impressed with the quality of your posts we have an easy way
to get in touch with you if we want to consider doing business.
I understand the Namaqualand was quite a disappointment last year. We spent
a couple of days at Kamieskroon in the beginning of September last year and
the flowers were amazing. This year a friend sent us a picture and all we
could see were a few desolate Vygies sticking out of the sand. He had to
search to find those. That must be hard on the local businesses.
He also said that Richtersveld and Fish River have been combined into a new
transfrontier park. Do you have any information on that and what it means
to visitors?
