Sounds like the two options are a charter flight or driving up then?

My friend was in a serious roll-over accident in Namibia in 1998 and spent
several days in a hospital there, which was apparently a very unpleasant
experience. He seems to want to avoid driving up at all costs since he's a
European living in a large city who doesn't own a car and doesn't like to
drive, especially on the wrong side of the highway.

As I recall from my trip there, very little. He's meeting someone with a
camper van in Etosha and was hoping to avoid having them drive down to pick him
up, I guess.
Thanks for the replies (you also, Hans).
