Hi,
You have been given good advise, take with you a repellant to put
on exposed parts of your body to guard against insect bites.
Believe me, they will help when it comes to bites. This you must
buy in America. Take your tablets reliqiously.
There are tours that can be arranged before you leave for Ghana.
Look on the web. I hope to be going there around the same time you
are. And that is the high season, so tickets are quite expensive.
I think you have been given a reasonable price.
Cell phones work, but you will not get reception everywhere. But
there are public phones and you can buy phone cards for these in
Accra at least. Which I find cheaper than cell phones. Though, it
is better to have a phone at your disposal. Cells are very
expensive.
Have a good time, Ghana's great.
