I take it that the wedding will be in Lagos?
I strongly recommend that you read up as much as you can about Nigeria
before you go there, especially if you are a novice African traveller.
Lagos is a busy, chaotic, fascinating, and potentially dangerous
place. If you're going to a wedding elsewhere in Nigeria, chances are
that you'll fly in to Lagos, and then take a connecting flight.
It is virtually imperative that someone should be at the airport to
meet you, because you almost certainly will be ripped off by the
locals if you're not a seasoned traveller. (Even well-worn African
travellers get ripped off from time to time).
I have travelled fairly widely in Africa, and found Nigeria to be one
of the more difficult countries to travel into, and do business in. I
find most Nigerians to be very friendly socially, but VERY aggressive
and confrontational in business dealings. I actualy hate doing
business in Nigeria generally.
Be prepared for a very different way of life, and be prepared to
embrace the differences. If you try to impose your values and
methodology on Nigeria, it will chew you up and spit you out ;-)
