Also summer is low season so more chance of getting a good deal through
bargaining.

Also, if you have enough money, consider doing it in a dahabieh. These
are the large sailing boats with cabins the like of which Florence
Nightingale sailed the Nile. A company has recently brought some back
into commission which are also equipped with motors for calm days etc.
(they don't use dozens of rowers any more). They are expensive, but,
would be a trip of a lifetime. You'll have to do a Google on them as
this information has come to me recently from a friend over there.
