There is a campsite just inside the boundary fence.

I don't know how cheap it is, but even if it's a bit more than you'd
normally pay, it has to be worth it, because you get to head out to
the dunes an hour earlier in the morning than if you stay anywhere
outside of the boundary, unless the rules have changed since 2003.

We had to stay, at the head of an ever-growing queue, until 6.30 a.m.
(in July) which meant that by the time we got down to the famous Dune
45 area the red light was already gone.
