Thanks Liz.
I was there in April so it seems that the concession operation was
stopped much sooner than I thought, even then I complained loudly as
there was no warning of this that they let me drive though after paying
a 'fee' of N$100 which was worth it to me as I had specifically come to
film the sunrise.
I stayed at Sesreim campsite and others do have to wait....except
Sossusvlei Lodge, of course.....maybe it was them who had the concession?
I agree about phoographing from the base, I couldn't climb it anyway;
too fat. When I was there in 2001, by the way, water was in the pan and
at Duisib, I had to lock the hubs because of the mud!
