Flying over Africa Posted on: Wed, 27 Sep 2006 23:57:06 +0200

Just tried to repeat an earlier flight virtually in Google
Earth, by means of the GPS track record, and it works fairly
well.

If you like to experience that too, please open
http://www.michna.com/kenya2006/ and scroll way down to the
chapter, "2006-06-11 – Lake Turkana".

At the end of that chapter you find instructions on how to
repeat the flight virtually in Google Earth. I find that
fascinating, almost like the real thing. (:-)

The flight commences and ends on the new Samburu Oryx airfield
and leads to Loyengalani airfield, but the return track
continues on a roundabout game drive and ends in the Samburu
Lodge.

One wishes for higher resolution satellite imagery, so you can
see the elephants along the way. (:-)
