In the far north suburbs there is indeed a market at the Village Market
shopping center on Fridays - it's a terrific experience! The markets
in town that serve the local population are not especially dangerous places
to visit, but a tourist might feel vulnerable and very conspicuous.
In other words, not a lot of fun. And, an easy target for purse-snatchers,
fanny-pack grabbers, etc.
