Absolutely, take them with you from your own country as I should not know
where you can buy them in AA
(for the North it is not nessessary)

I guess you will not travel on your own as backpacker or so as this is very
difficult in Ethiopia(difficult country for travelling as backpacker).
Best way is hire a car with driver on forehand (NOT hire a car whithout
driver!!) or travel organized (small groups)
