I've never flown on Ryanair, but from what I have seen on TV,
their B737 have integrated/built-in steps.
So, no charge and _ more important _ no delay in waiting
for the ground-handling staff to bring the steps and line them up with the
exit door.
On arrival on Air France, I have been held up at CDG2, either waiting for
the steps to
be brought up (frequent bus transfers) or for the airport staff (ADP)
to turn-up at the Finger and then take 10 minutes to
manoeuvre the jetway.
To be frank, I don't remember if it was 10 minutes waiting for the
exit door to open... but when 150 passengers are all standing up
with their hand-baggage ready to disembark, it feels like half an hour!
