Why is it that US airlines all offer the same meals (when they offer
them!) in coach class - the choices are either chicken or beef??
Why aren't entrees like pasta, pizza, fish, tofu, beans, or cheese
dishes like enchiladas or cannelonis offered? Also - why are the
'snacks' always processed deli - turkey or bologna or some similar
unidentifiable food (if you can call it food?) Don't these airlines
realize that more & more of their customers don't eat the offerings
they proffer, and not everyone thinks ahead to order vegetarian or
other types of special meals?
Having ordered vegetarian meals twice (each time on a different US
carrier) I would never again ask for this on a US carrier; I was
served a lettuce & tomato sandwich - yep - nothing more, no protein
whatsoever, and that was supposed to sustain me for a 6 hourt flight!!
Where are these guys heads??
Now, whenever possible I avoid US carriers; the European and Asian
airlines are so much more thoughtful in the food arena. On a recent
Air France flight they offer salmon as a dinner entree choice, and on
a flight where luch was served, a salmon pate was one of the choices.
Why can't the US airlines do the same - it can't be a money issue -
beef is expensive!
Cheers,
Ann
