I haven't looked recently but I've never see it that low.
I got a special offer in my inbox for 460 Euro which is
the more normal 300 quid and change.
But it's the same number of miles to the west coast and
the fares are usually more expensive.

You get miles for every flight, but it's a pathetic number, 150
IIRC for the lowest class down from the previous 1000 for
any class of economy ticket.
For the last two years since they reduced the miles, they
still let you count sectors for status. So it was still possible
to keep the card for lounge entry with 17 return trips, but
now they've abolished that and at 150 miles per flight it's
125 round trip(!) in the lowest class to keep the card.
(As a sop they've reduced the qualifying miles for German
residents, but that doesn't help me as I was already on the
lower number for non-germans).
And the've reduced the benefits as well. I haven't been able
to go in partner lounges for ages and as my base is now CPH
I can't use the lounge there (nor at LHR because SAS fly from
a different terminal, and airport security rules forbid you from
swapping terminals airside).
And as from this month it's no longer possible to take in a guest.
Boy, that is really scraping the barrel, how much can that really
cost them?
Personally, if running the lounge costs too much, from my pov
they can remove all the alcohol. My only reason for wanting to
go in there is to wait somewhere more comfortable, watch
the telly and read a newspaper (being one of these people
who expects PT to the airport to fail, I always arrive T-2 hours
or more).
