I expressly ask the airline NOT to tag my baggage with the Platinum
Executive "priority" tag when checking the suitcase. In my experience,
when my suitcase is so tagged, things tend to disappear from it, while,
in contrast, I have had far less taken when the suitcase is not tagged.
I suspect that the thiefs realize that FF's are more likely to have
something of value in the suitcase as opposed to wet and dirty clothing
of a returning vacationer.
