If the place you are going to or from is served by another Delta
Connection carrier, Delta will automatically rebook you on that
carrier. This would mean a connection in Atlanta, rather than Cincy in
most cases. If Comair is the only Delta Connection carrier in the
airport, then Delta will re-book you on another airline, starting with
partners Continental (via Cleveland, Newark or Houston-Bush) or
Northwest (via Detroit, Memphis or Minneapolis) and then with others.
At no point would you be stuck unless you are in one of the less than a
dozen EAS airports where Comair is the ONLY carrier or if every seat on
every other airline is taken.
