Anyone who values saving time. Also, ever since the Paris riots of '05
I stay in the countryside few km up the toll road, northeast of CDG,
and where I often stay, there is NO public transport, so I HAVE
to DRIVE into Paris. I do this every year when I cover the Trophee
Bomard figure skating competition. There is no public transport
from Survilliers into central Paris, to the Palais Omnisport, where
most international competitions in Paris are held. The only way
into Paris from there is by auto. The '05 paris riots just happened
to be at the time the 2005 Trophee Bompard competition was
being conducted, so I stayed in the countryside away from the
city, and I did find that the ONLY way into cental Paris from
there is by auto. There is NO public transport from Survilliers
into Paris. Because there is still the potential for that kind
of trouble, it is safer to stay in the countryside near Survilliers
and Senlis, and drive a rental car into Paris.
Its only about 45 minutes on the E15/E19/A1 toll road into
Paris, sometimes a lot less, depending on the traffic. The time
depends on how the traffic is after the road transiitions from
freeway to surface road near Saint Ouen.
