What you say is coreect, but it's just as easy and cheap to do it by
yourself. KSR busses take forever as they stop a million times in
reastaurants along the way that pay them commission. Take a government
bus to Aranya, cross the border, pick-up truck to Sisophon, pick-up to
Siem Reap. Easy. Fast. The road is OK these days compared to a few
years ago. Enjoy your trip!
