The situation in Bukit Bintang is a little different to the situation
in Sukhumvit. I did spend quite a bit of time staying along Suk and
walked at least a 100 times from Suk40+ to the World Trade Center
(don't ask me why, I just enjoy walking in BKK, weird as it may
sound).

After walking past them about 20 times, the BKK pimps did understand I
was simply was not interested and after that simply ignored me. After
walking past them 500 times, the KL pimps still look at you as if they
see you for the first time.

You're right though about simply ignoring them. The difference though,
if you are staying a couple of months in say Bukit Bintang and every
night, every night, every night, you get confronted with them
sleazeballs, it CAN get you down sometimes. Imagine, you've gone for a
nice meal with friends and you go for a walk to the Twin Towers, and
then immediately get chased by the 'young girl, young girl (wink
wink) yes yes?' pimps. Simply ignore them, sure, but still.
