doxy is standard in our med kit too for our school's trekking club...nobody
has had to use it yet, which says something in itself...standard antibiotic
really, take it and seek med attention right away if symptoms of
malaria...however, all the people I've known in past 4 years who have
trekked a lot of this region have never mentioned anything of
malaria...personally, I think malaria is extremely low risk anywhere in
Malaysia unless you're planning deep penetrations/lengthy time in jungles of
Kalimantan. Check British Pharmaceuticals Council book (most pharmacists in
KUL have this book) for risk levels to be sure.
