In those countries I would do None Of The Above and just use an ATM card,
which is the most convenient and affordable, at least from my bank.

Bring a couple hundred in your country's cash or traveler's checks just to
be safe if you're disposed to worry.

The Visa card is useful for paying for hotels, etc., but it's a very
expensive way to get cash - about as expensive as travelers checks, and
sometimes even more.
