Nah... If you look at some Indonesian newspapers, you will see many
obituaries in newspapers about people with Chinese names. It always
been like that, even in the New Order era (which is relatively much
more peaceful than the Reformation era).
Of course unless you think that those obituaries are a list of
'victims'.

And probably don't even know that there are Chinese in the first
place, they ceased to become Chinese Chinese and become Indonesian
Chinese. Indonesia is a melting pot of people from many cultures,
people interact and over on, forget their ancestors. If I said that
I'm a descendant of Adam and Eve, will I be laughed and discriminated
because of my Adamic lineage? |
