There are two main options for ATM's in Japan, if you are using a card
issued outside of Japan:
1) Citibank - these are 24hr access machines (however usually only located
in larger cities). For locations, please refer to:

2) ATM's operated by the Japan Post Office (Postal Savings Bank). Note that
these machines have limited operating hours. Refer to:
http://www.yu-cho.japanpost.jp/e_a0000000/aa200000.htm (scroll down to the
paragraph titled "Using ATM's of Yucho with cash cards issued outside
Japan"). These machines accept VISA, MASTERCARD, AMERICAN EXPRESS, DINERS
CLUB and JCB credit cards, plus debit cards that operate through the
networks of VISA Electron and Maestro, along with cash cards that operate
through the networks of PLUS and CIRRUS.
