I am not Sjoerd, but ...

'freedoms' is a rather ambiguous term. It means different things to
different people, apparently also to you. For me for example, it also
includes how 'free'/easy/ I can live my life and hence
includes things like social environment, work environment, etc.. For
example work related: Because of the work environment, etc., I now am
'rich' in the sense that I have a good income. If I would have been in
the US, I would have been poor, at your social minimum, whatever that is
called. For me, that is a 'freedom', because it allows me to live my
life like I want (and have always done), allows me (funds) to travel (to
get back to the newsgroups and original subject), etc..
