I worked for about 8 hours, then went out with some friends, then when they
had to go to sleep I went for a nice walk, then, when it was too cold to
walk anymore, I went shopping (by bicycle, so cold doesn't matter so much).

If the store had been closed at 3am, I would have had to give up on going
out socially, or on my walk.

The freedom to have all those things in my day contributes greatly to my
quality of life.
