OK, so there are circumstances where it can be cured. However, a person can
easily be infected without showing symptoms for several months, in which
case there is no hope of prompt diagnosis.

If the OP really wants to take the risk of acquiring this unpleasant disease
then that's his choice. It's just a pity he seems intent on exposing his
children to this danger.

BTW, as recommended by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, I took
MALARONE for my visit to Angkho Wat last year and there were no side-effects
at all.
