Laos is a rather safe country. Lao people are rather cool as it is a
boudhist
country. as a female you should have no problem. however i heard that
the route
no 13 linking vangvieng to luang prabang and route no 7 linking
phoukoune to phonesavanh are not safe. bandits attacked a bus and
killed people in 2002
on the route no 13.(see travel advice links from

Laos is a wonderful country as it is still unspoiled by mass tourism.
i am planning to be in Laos next week. will travel to vientiane, then
savannakhet then central vietnam thru route 9.
