Yes, don't also forget the Tram and the Peak Tram, one of Hong Kong's

Yeah, but you need to put your purse/billfold/whatever on the reader,
with the card close enough to the reader. While the scanner is capable
of reading the card by the distance of up to 10 cm, to increase the
potential of good reading, you practically need to put the card very
near to the reader (almost to the point of touching it).

Octopus in Hong Kong, EZ-Link in Singapore, SUICa in Japan, and so on
are in the same category.

And oh... may I remind you that you could be very easily track using
it?
