The chief local festival during Chinese New Year in Taiwan is turning
the expressways into parking lots for 6 consecutive days so people can
visit two sets of in-laws. None of the locals seem to enjoy it but for
most it's a duty and they grin and bear it well if they can find a
excuse to escape.
Besides because of this ritual, many local attractions are closed and
excursion buses to something you might wanna see are cancelled. As
expected, the week has been cold and rainy...about 8 or 9C...the rain
is however a blessing...we have had prolonged drought and the wet will
help. Thanks. |
