Well just to even things up a bit, I've flown KLM a few times and have
had no problems at all.
Judging an airline on one trip is naieve at best and malicious at
worst. Maybe I've been lucky, maybe you had the crew who have had to
do a double shift, deal with a group of drunken areholes, professional
whingers etc. etc. etc.
If they have, as you say, won the award for best airline, that should
surely mean that on average they get things right. Nobody is going to
post to a newsgroup that they had a pretty good flight. It's very
tempting to post that, for whatever reason, your bad experience is all
the airlines fault.
And look, if you want guaranteed good food, plush pillows and all the
trimmings, you'll just have to pay for it. Simple. Fly Club Class
Air Singapore or something.
But no, you want cheap tickets with superb service. Is this asking
too much?
