> How to go to Angkok (Cambodia) from Bangkok (Thailand)?
The flight on Bangkok Airways is roughly an hour and costs about US
$260 round trip. You might be able to do a bit better on price if you
buy it from a Bangkok discount travel agent. The airport you fly into
is called "Siem Reap", after the town nearest the ruins.
You can do it overland...from Bangkok to the Cambodian border the
roads are fine, but the roads in most of Cambodia are atrocious.
Lonely Planet on Cambodia: "Road travel is safer than it's been for
years, but your body is still going to suffer for travelling by bus -
the country's highways are in truly pathetic shape."
Finally, you can go by plane or bus from Bangkok to the Cambodian
capital Phnom Penh, and then take a boat to Siem Reap. |
