Maestro card in Thailand? Posted on: Tue, 23 Nov 2004 13:43:33 +0000 (UTC)

Ok, this is an odd question.

I don't currently have a credit card (can't have one, damn belgian
banks.. anyway..) and I am going to visit Thailand in february.

If my money or plane ticket was stolen or something like that,I may
need some money fast. So, does anyone know if it is possible to use a
Maestro card (in ATMs or in shops) in Asia even if your balance is
about as low as Britney Spears'IQ? In other words, is there a balance
check when you withdraw money or buy something from a shop with a
Maestro card on the other side of the world?

Thanks for any answer about this..
