take euros in cash with u, u can change them everywhere into dollars
and riels for fair rates, take master or/and visa cards for dollar
withdrawls,
buy dollars only if u get a fair rate like in bkk, atm card for withdrawls
of
thai Bt in bkk, but never forget that atm cards are useless in cambodia,
buy some traveller checks for feeling save.
itīs strange to imagine the money system there, but u will see and
understand
it quick when u are there, itīs really convenient and no problem at all.
officially they use only riel, but thatīs technically impossible cause riel
bills
are just to small and u would carry tons of paper if u would have to pay
everything in riel, so they use dollar combined with riel.
4000 riels are about 1 US$
and everywhere u find small shops, private money changers who change
dollars, riels, euros, thai Bt and whatever currency u have to rather fair
rates. ur money means not much to them, not much reason to cheat u,
most business is based on cash there, they are more than used to change
huge sums of money, actually itīs nice to watch their work sometimes.
read there a bit and relax :

hope u have a nice trip and love it there as I did :)
