I have never been to the Philippines but I have heard that whatever course
of unrest in Thailand is of small swells compared to the troubled waters of
the Philippines. Few tourists visit the southernmost provinces (Narathiwat
possible being the most troublesome of them all) anyways, especially those
of us who are concerned about "early closing hours of bars". Those of us who
cruise in the neighbourhood, don't pay much attention to a few rascals who
attack people as "moslems". I believe the situation would be a lot better if
the Thai authority hadn't brutalized many dozens of men to death some time
ago while they were arrested.
