I think you need to get it approved by the airline and customs, and I'm
certain there'll be various importing rules you'll need to follow. Call
Customs and find out for certain what's required. But it is possible;
you could travel with a gun if you got everything properly cleared (and
checked it into the hold). I met a guy once that travelled all over the
world hunting and said it was a hassle but possible.
