Perhaps you should pay more attention to the promotions offered by
some of these low-cost airlines. I know for a fact that AirAsia have
offered flights on their Bangkok-Khon Kaen route for 9 Baht in the
past, so his question was not unreasonable. These airlines do offer
ridiculously low fares from time to time, mainly for publicity
purposes. The catch is that although the fare itself is low, you also
have to pay airport taxes etc, which can often amount to several times
the cost of the flight.
