Ummm...you mean like an extra 110-120 volts? China is a
230 VAC (nominal), 50 Hz country, like most of the world outside
North America and Japan.
(Actually, being UNDER your normal voltage can cause
more "sparky" behavior, too, as less voltage than you're used
to means you'll be drawing more current - and the more
current you pull through a given inductance (i.e., the power
cords, wiring, etc., not to mention whatever inductive load
you might have), the bigger the spark you get when you
break the circuit.)
