No. South Korean citizens can take tours to a few places in the North,
but AFAIK they aren't open to other nationals. If you want to visit
the North, then expect to go through Beijing.
You might be able to get a business visa to one of the North's
"economic zones", but you would need a legitimate business reason to be
there before they let you in. I'm not sure if a business visa allows
you to travel directly from South Korea to the North.

US citizens, journalists of any nationality, and persons of Korean
ancestry are not allowed in. British nationals are technically allowed
in, but it is still possible that your visa would be denied. Look up
"Koryo Tours". You must take an approved tour - there is no way to
travel independently. Be aware that the tours cost a few hundred USD
per day, you must stay with your group and guide at all times, you are
not given any choice as to what places you are taken to, and you are
not permitted to interact with any North Koreans other than your guide
and certain tourism workers.
