I'm in Beijing and I'd like to get some phonecards to make cheap
international calls to Europe, Malaysia, and HK. Can anyone recommend a
good phonecard?

I have tried China Unicom's 17910 and it costs 3.60RMB/min (about
AUD$0.60/min) to call Malaysia. That's not cheap at all. When I was in
Australia, I could get a card to call at a rate of about 4-5 Autralian
cents/min to Malaysia.

Please advise on phoncards only, no Skype.
