Ahh... I guess you were stretching the truth slightly - wikipedia seems
to tell a different tale... though I didn't read anything that
commented on the frequency of wear - seems restricted to traditional:
- unwed women
- brides
- geishas or geishas in training
- sumos
- even some wear them formally
But it does seem that they are restricted to special occasions these
days.
By the way thank you very much for giving me the name of those curtain
type dealys - "noren", eh? Awesome.
