This thread is living proof that Usenet is full of people who just want
to argue, for the sake of arguement. Imagine the following:
You are out walking in the neighborhood where you live. A neighbor of
yours is out walking with their pet dog/goat/bird/monkey. A group of
police or local authorities surround owner and pet and proceed to beat
pet to death.
You are either:
a) bothered by this because you are a human being
b) not bothered because you are dead inside
Keep in mind, geniuses, that while animals are slaughtered everyday for
all sorts of reasons in all sorts of violent ways, this particular
behavior is cruel to both animals and human owners, who view the pet as
companion not as dinner. See the difference?
