I have to wonder what might be the basis for such a claim.
The shinkansen presently reaches top speeds somewhat over
300 kph, with planned increases beyond this, and has not had a single
fatality in over 40 years of operation.
Maglev operation might solve certain problems faced by
conventional wheeled trains, but I don't see any reason to
expect that it should be inherently safer.
