The Economist ran an Iraq cover a few weeks ago featuring a Baghdad luthier
repairing an oudh. There was an interesting follow-up letter from a musician
urging every reader to buy an Iraqi oudh. To paraphrase, the letter-writer's
message was "More than anything else, Iraq needs customers." Also, I hadn't
seen the word "luthier" before. I like it.
