Which she has a perfect right to, but there is no requirement for
others to choose to follow it. As have written before, Usenet
groups which choose to censor postings should reconstitute
themselves as "moderated groups". Then the moderator can refuse
to accept any posts that he or she wishes.

>Read it or don't, but don't attack Cath for the *content*.

Is this intended as a "request" or an "order"? :-)

I will point out that Cath "attacked" me first for not conforming
to her "rules". I don't like censorship, especially of newsgroup
posts.

She had, and has, the option of simply ignoring my posts.

Why should I try to set "guidelines" for others? I believe that
most of my posts to the travel and immigration groups to contain
useful information, or I wouldn't bother to write & post them.

Those who don't choose to read them are free to ignore them.

Again, is this intended as a "request" or an "order"? :-)

Usenet is designed as an open forum, and over the years I
have posted on both unmoderated and moderated groups.

Admittedly, not often on the latter as simply don't like
censorship, or delays on my posts when one or more
censors or "moderators" take time to "approve" them.

Although am not Jewish, I do appreciate Jewish humour.
If I could think of some new joke that hadn't appeared on
the humour group, would post it on the unmoderated
"alt.humor.jewish" and not the moderated "rec.humor.jewish"
group.

I simply don't feel welcome on moderated groups. If they don't
trust my "self-censorship" why should I bother with their
censorship? Their loss, not mine.

I post to "rec.travel.australia+nz" as a courtesy. Actually, I
post more on "misc.immigration.australia+nz". Many concern
safety issues.

I believe these to be of genuine interest to both immigrants and
tourists, and believe that both should read both groups.

Still, I am sure that some don't, so I sometimes drop some
information on this group. I don't really care if everyone
reads it or not.

If you and others don't want to read my posts, simply don't read
them or "killfile" me. Alternatively, make it a moderated group
and I won't bother to post on it.

Verstehen Sie?

Cheers,
Kangaroo16
